I wanted to find out if the past donations made by people like me are good enough to get us donor status. But I have only landed with circuitous answers to this issue.
Honestly, I couldn't give less tail about the donor status. What I really care about is being up-to-date with what is happening so that I can lend a helping hand in ways I can.
It seems like maybe some action is going down in the donor forums and ppl like us are left to wonder what is up. I don't think anyone cares to even post updates,albeit delayed, in the open forums about what is happening. It is just making for a really dry experience with IV lately.
What gives?

Your situation is complicated.
There is a 240 days rule to stop working, if H1B is pending for an approval.
It is for working with the same employer. Transfer may be diffrent.
But since it is a premium process, and your I-94 is expired, you need to be very careful.
You are now out of staus, I fear.
So rush to a good lawyer and contact USCIS.

My company didn't cancel my H1 as they wanted to be in India for a year and return to US. I am still working for the same company that got me the H1.
I also have a family - Wife (H4), Son (4yrs - H4), Daughter (2yrs - US Citizen) - should i take them with me or should i first go there, get a couple of pay stubs and then ask them to join me.

We can even say yes she had it but lost it over there so i mail her the document. right?
I traveled on AP in 2009 in Lufthansa airlines from Chicago and the airlines asked me about the plan of reentry as I had no VISA in passport before issuing boarding pass. I had to show it to them. I'm not sure, what happens if you say you don't have it with you.
If I'm in your situation, I would rather postpone the trip for few days.

when they say school starts from december 2011, f1 approval will be given around that date (i.e, 1 month before commencement of course), so even if u apply now, it will only help you to get prpared (in case if they ask for additional documents etc - most unlikely in ur case).

This was a renewal, I already had one PAROLE.
When I applied online they asked me not to include any documentation but the old parole document, the specifically said not to include pictures or any other type of document.
So I just mailed the old PAROLE and got an email saying that an REF was on its way,
I waited for the letter and they specifically said only to include 2 pictures attached to a yellow document that they sent on the same envelope!
Now, I'm just waiting to receive my travel permit!

what does one have verify with HR of the new company specifically with regard to AC 21 portability? :confused:
Most recruiters / HR folks know nothing about AC21 etc. (Most when they hear green card, say per company policy, they will start haver 1 yr!).
Should one ever bother about confusing the new employer about AC21? (Assume that Job titiles and descriptions are practically the same. Nothing drastically different. And taking the new job on H1b transfer. i.e. not on EAD).
(PS: I am not taking from the context of desi consulting firms where it might be easier to get any letter with exact same job description etc.).

They have a provision for deporting legal (and illegal) immigrants on their first DUI conviction. Seems to me they are now serious about creating an officialy declared permanent underclass in this country. The house Democrats are also singing the same chorus. I just can't believe that these are the same Democrats who we thought will replace the Republican Congress on the Hill and legalize every immigrants in this country. Please help! My I-485 was denied by a local USCIS officer because of visa availability. My case is EB2 PERM based and I filed I-485 in July 2007 when the visa number was available.
Apparently USCIS made a mistake if they have any knowledge of the wellknown visa bulletin fiasco of July 2007 (Visa bulletiin No. 107). What should I do to correct this? If I file a motion to reopen (MTR), it will cost me $1500 legal fee+$585 filing fee. Any suggestions are really appreciated.

If 3600 have been approved, then between 7200 and 9000 numbers have already been consumed based on an average of 2 or 2.5. Take your pick. We have only completed 4 business days in August. At this rate we'll blow through the 20,000 numbers in less than ten days. That means EB2 becomes U in Sept and it makes 2006 approvals look even more egregious.
