Do you need a valid H-1B status if your H-1B stamp has expired. I don't have any H-1B stamp on my passport and my H-1B status (I-797) will expire on February 14th, 2008. I will then switch to EAD. I am traveling on Feb 23rds, 2008 (Chicago->JFK->Dubai-Pakistan).
So, do i still need a valid H-1B status even though, i will be traveling back on AP?

"The mission of Immigration Voice is to organize grassroots efforts and resources to solve several problems in the employment based green card process including (a) delays due to Retrogression (visa number unavailability for certain employment-based categories) (b) delays due to USCIS processing backlogs and (c) delays due to Labor Certification backlogs. We will work to remove these and other flaws by supporting changes to immigration law for high-skilled legal employment-based immigrants. High-skilled legal immigrants strengthen the United States' economy and help maintain American technological superiority"
Yes with the media attention, there is some stigma to H1 ... we are asking to

I am kind of in the same situation...But, I don't know if the status means what it says.
But, I got the status change in Jul 2008 saying that
'the post office returned the notice we last sent you on this case I-485 application to register permanent residence or to adjust status as undeliverable. This may have serious effects on processing this case....'
The very next day I got this case status change saying that..
'We mailed document to the address we have on file, You should receive the new document within 30 days.....'
I took an InfoPass appointment and explained to them the case status emails. I also told them that I didn't get my biometrics notice. They asked me if priority date is current..I said NO and they verified too. So, they took the "document mailed" as the biometrics notice document and took my biometrics. I never bothered about that since then....
But, with new system change it shows as 'Document Processing & Oath ceremony'. So I am not sure what the original case status changes emails were about...and take the status 'Document processing and Oath ceremony' seriously.
Thanks in advance.

I want all of us to discuss the good things that we do as legal immigrants to America.
Once we come up with all; we can summarise into an article and we can send it to local news papers, so that all the people are educated with what legal immigrants are; and the benifits that we bring to American Society.

hello,
My question is about getting the visa after 6 years. I know that you can apply for 1 year extentions each year until your case is closed. We have applied and were approved. Our attorney said we had 2 choices to get the VISA issued.Either we go to our country and get it or we can go to Bahamas for a day and get it. Apperently, Bahamas and US has an agreement and they do it very quick.
What happens if we do not get the VISA stamp on our passports? I mean we are working and do not want to leave the country, dowe still have to get the actual VISA? Do we have a problem next year when we apply for extention if we do not get the visa stampped this year?
Visa is required when you have to travel outside US and reenter again. You can get as many extensions as possible by the law.visa stamp is not a problem for your next extension.

As of right now, retailers have no knowledge of this happening. Does not mean it's true or false, just the fact is retailers are not aware. As of the time of this posting.
